- If you want email notifications to be sent from your email address, you should configure “Use SMTP”. Please follow our guide below to configure it.
-The Google SMTP is not required. You can set up other SMTP config, just make sure the account information is enter correctly.

Steps to manage
Step 1: Log into your Google account
First, log into your Google account here
Step 2: Enabling 2-Step Verification
To make sure that your Google account is well protected to avoid any intervention when using the SMTP service; therefore, we recommend enabling the 2-step verification offered by Google.

If you have already enabled the 2-step verification, then you may jump to Step 3 below.
Step 3: Generate App Password
- Then click here to generate App password
- Select Other/Custom name from Select App, give it a name such as “DO – Production Server” and then click Generate.
- Note down the application password as it will be required in the next step.
Step 4: Configure SMTP in Tipo app
1. Open the app > click Settings > click Mail > tick on checkbox Use SMTP
2. Enter smtp.gmail.com as your host
3. Enter your Gmail login username [email protected]
4. Enter your App password (if 2-Step Verification is enabled)
5. Mail encryption must be SSL and use port 465
6. Click Save to finalize the settings on the server
7. Open an email template and send test email to check the result
Note: app password in field 6 is the app password generated in step 2 above, not your Gmail password
